Does ‘trickle out’ work? Centre for Cities research on the relationships between city centres and surrounding areas

Cities and towns are sometimes pitted against each other in economic policy and political discourse. Two new reports from the Centre for Cities shed light on whether the economic prosperity of cities ‘trickles out’ to surrounding towns, or whether it stays within cities with little benefit to wider areas.
