The 2025 State of Local Government Finance Survey and the expansion of our large-scale international comparison project, exploring funding systems around the world, were standouts in the sector.

Our evidence and proposed solutions have had considerable impact across the media and in Parliament this year.

We provide the secretariat for the APPG on Local Government and are working with Clive Betts MP (chair) to develop a year-long inquiry into fiscal devolution.

Our extensive work on local government reorganisation and devolution is recognised as leading-edge, including:
